I am looking for ideas on cams and am wondering if anybody has the stealth cam and how it is on springs and what kind of power it is making ?
Could probably get same power with a little less lift ,and less spring wear?
John
It's got a pretty good deal of lift (.581) you can use single springs but you will probably be changing them out every year. Best best would be doubles, then you wouldn't have to worry. I know Randy has it (can't remeber his screen name). I just talked to him this weekend at MTI. He loves it. there is another pewter C5 I know of that has it. I couldn't even tell Randy had a cam in his car. He made over 400 RWHP with it and a set of Stage1 heads.
A friend of mine in the Lafayette, La. area had this done not too long ago. Considering the low profile this cam keeps sound wise, I was very impressed with the overall power the car made. When he first pulled up with the car, unless you already know the sound of a stock corvette, you would never know there had been anything done to the car until he stomped on it. He was just a tad over 400 rwhp if I remember correctly. Looking forward to possibly working up something with Lou at LGM this winter to possibly get something along the same lines while the car is cruising or at idle yet maintain the torque and power of the G5X-2 cam I have now. Going to a wider LSA 114-115 should help as well as a quiter exhaust for everyday use.
Blktie8, your car's pretty close to mine (see my sig). I ordered TR 224/224 561/561 114 today based on as much reading as my poor bloodshot computer strained eyes could take. Should have installed within a week or so. If you can wait, I will be posting my results.

I would be very interested in THAT. :yesnod:
The TR224 is great cam. I considered it too. You might also look at the C1 cam if you want to stick with MTI. (Not saying anything bad about TR I just like MTI becasue they are local) Specs on C1 are 222/222 .566/.566 112 or 114. I've got the C1 on a 114 waiting to go in. The C2 is similar to TR224 but more lift. 224/224 .581/.581 112 or 114
