99 C5 Auto, Transmission slips between 3rd and 4th???
Hi guys I'm in Western Australia and have a 99 C5 Auto Convertible, it has been converted to right hand drive but everything else is stock. There is absolutely NO help here and no one here knows anything about these beautiful machines. When I drive the Auto Transmission is slipping when it changes between 3rd gear and 4th gear, when your driving along as it gets to 3rd and about to go to 4th the revs climb and it responds like it was in neutral until it suddenly jumps into 4th and drives again?? If anyone has had any similar incidents with their cars please let me know. I would take it straight to a dealer, if it wasn't a boat trip away.

Sounds like you are at the point of needing the tranny rebuilt....
From what I have seen thus far, the slippage you are talking about from the 3 to 4 shift is one of the first signs as the clutches are starting to go. I am at the same point right now as my car is showing the same signs although it is a 2002. However I am sure the 425 RWHP LGM added has a little bit to do with it and will soon be upgrading to an FLP Level IV tranny.

2-3/3-4 lutch paks...have experianced it personally. Need to rebuild it with Kevlar band & clutch pak. Transgo shift kit recomended....be careful w/LS1 edit for line pressure after you do the transgo as the transgo will raise the line pressure manually and to much added with tuning will cause quick failure.

:iagree: I've been there!! You really need to look into a new transmission that will serve you for a long time. Check out www.transmissioncenter.net Call them for advice on the 4L60E . The transmissions are ready to install so any competant technician can install...Good Luck!! :D

Check your tranny fluid. Make sure you have no leaks and level is correct. The color should be a clear red, if black and smells burnt, tranny needs a rebuild.
