Default how is your traction control working?

Hey guys,
I was curious what my 1/4 mile times were after doing the air-box mod, so I ran some examples with a friend's G2 timer. My frustration was the traction control. I didn't want to burn up my new Kumho's, so I left it on. I was surprised that I still had substantial wheel-spin in 1st, 2nd (and once in 3rd!).
What is your experience?

In a straight line or in corners, my trac ctrl eliminates spin after about 1 sec. and then the motor will maintain a constant rpm until the spin is eliminated.

When you start adding mods to the car the traction control can not keep up.

What does cannot keep up mean? All TC does is monitor wheel speeds and apply brakes first and then throttle control to keep the brakes from being damaged. It can control enough throttle that in extreme cases of tire slip your car will have no power no matter how many mods.

The power hits too hard and fast, I can spin my tires for 3 seconds in 2nd gear before I get traction. :)

21MC also told me not to use it with all these mods (400RWHP) on my A4 car as it could mess up your tranny. I think he is right about not keeping up once the mods pile on. Also, mine started coming on when I wasn't even spinning one day. So I take their advice and turn it off now. My right foot and wider tires are "traction control" :jester

Did you try putting the car in competition mode? It will allow a little more wheel spin, and it is a bit less obtrusive.

I can spin the tires for a couple of seconds without any mods. In a straight line with both rear wheels spinning it is quite forgiving. If either of them has a wheel speed increase it will clamp the brake down on that wheel and cut power shortly thereafter. This keeps the backend where it should be (in the back). Since the Vette has a Posi the wheel speeds stay pretty close together unless you are in a turning situation or hit a bump. It doesn't hurt the tranny. Conversely, with my Tahoe I can spin all 4 wheels together on ice but TC will apply the brake on any single wheel that starts to slip too much. If I go over a few seconds of brake application and spinning then it cuts the power. The extra time before the power is cut allows the wheel with traction to pull the vehicle out of a hole, mud puddle or snow pile.
