Default Changing out the front leaf spring - DIY or Not?

The manual says you need a couple of special tools to do this job - a spring tensioner type thing and a ball joint seperator. I do not have or intend to get either. Can it be done by 1 person without those tools or should I stay away from it. I have done sway bars, rotors, brakes, shocks, and cold air screens so far with no real problems. I have a nice jack lift, jack stands, and a second smaller lift as well as a nice torque wrench, etc.

Any pit falls or tips - Do Not do it is an acceptable tip as well.

It is straight forward and can be done with the tools you have. Sure, it's easier with the spring tool but it's been done many times without the use of one.
