My coolant light just came on a week ago when i started my car but goes away after about 15 sec. On the way home kept an eye on temp it was b/w 190 and 215 driving in Texas heat. Checked the level and it's at the full mark. Can the sensor be wrong it's a 98 with 43k? Also just changed my rims and left the tire sensors off and the tire mon. system comes on which is normal but can this make the low coolant light trip on and off, or should I just fill it up a little?
Hmmm... I saw the EXACT same behavior about a week before my water pump failed in my 1997 C5 -- I think was also at about 44k miles at the time. "Low coolant" warning, but the coolant tank was full. After I changed out the pump, I never saw the "low coolant" message again. :skep:
Probably just coincidence, and doesn't mean anything, but you might want to keep an eye on it, just the same.
