Default Need help removing adjustable shocks!!!

I know there was a link to this how-to somewhere, but I can't seem to find it. My main question is: How do you remove the plastic cover that covers the electrical connecter on the bottom of the shock? It looks like it should snap off, but I don't want to apply excessive force and break it or something else in the process. Also, I assume the 15ohm 5watt resistor plugs into this connector, not the position sensor?

Any advice or tips from people who have done this would be appreciated.

Anyone? I'm referring to the F45 Real Time Damping shocks in case I wasn't clear the first time. There's a round plastic piece that covers the plug; does it need a special procedure or tool to remove or do I just need to pry it off? It doesn't show in the shop manual.

What I did was the following. Onbolt shock, unhook the wire from the bottom of the shock the connects to the weatherpack connector located near the frame rail and removed the shock. Then I placed the resistor in the open connector and wrapped it with electrical tape. that should do the trick. Are you switching shocks or just disabling the feature? You do not even have to mess with the connector on the base of the shock. just unplu it where it plugs in and you are set.
