Okay, when the car is idling I hear a lot of rattling until I press in the clutch. If I turn the car off, it sounds like something is about to fall apart unless I have the clutch in. Now my clutch has less than 500 miles on it and I'm just wondering if this is normal and I never noticed it or what. Thanks or any help you can give me.
you should not hear your clutch when you are at idle. The shut down thing is normal. To avoid it, turn car off with clutch in... ltNate if you come to the poker run on saturday http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=610304 then we all can listen to it and give our best opinion.
Mine has it too (03 Zo6). I even went as far to make them replace the clutch, pressure plate etc and it did not go away. So yes it is normal, very annoying, and loud
Hi,
This is not a clutch problem it is a driveline clatter. The C4’s used a dual-mass flywheel to reduce this effect. We have lighter, cheaper solid flywheels and they can transmit a vibration to the driveline from the engine. Chevy tried to eliminate the need for a dual-mass flywheel by using computer balancing of our engines after assembly. The little weights that are pushed into the damper and the flywheel are from this computer balancing.

This is the company, LUK, that makes the stock clutches.
Good luck,
