Hurst shifter bushing change?
I recently installed a hurst shifter and used the bottom bushing (the black fiber cup) from the factory shifter. I have now read you should replace it . Has anyone replaced it and if so where did you get it. My local chevy dealer said the part was not listed (which I doubt). I am having trouble hitting 3rd on fast shifts. It seems to be a little out of alignment and hangs up between going into 3rd and 5th.

I didn't replace my bushing and I don't know of anyone who did.
You cannot buy the bushing without purchasing the entire shifter from GM. Fichtner sells it for $200 or so if I remember right.
If you're missing 3rd and 5th, I'd check the stop adjustment on the front side of the shifter. You may have set it in too far.

where did you read that you should replace it?
The directions that came w/ the Hurst said use the one from the stock shifter and I've never heard of anyone replacing it
as for the part not being listed, it really doesn't suprise me. Either the guy at the dealership is being lazy (very common) or chevy only sells it with the complete shifter unit (I had to buy a whole passanger side mirror for the pins that connect the motor to the mirrior :banghead: )
