Default Silicone Air Coupler install

There is a little vac line that goes to the stock one, do I need to make a hole and reinstall this on the smooth coupler?

No, you should install a fuel recurve hose and disregard the stock vacuum line. I also added a fuel recurve hose to supply vacuum to the Regulator to take the place of the stock hose which no longer works with a high flow air intake. Corvette Concepts should be able to help. That is where I got mine from. Just go to their website, get their phone number and call give them a call.

I just put in a small hole and stuffed it through. Whats the benefit of doing the recurve instead?

I added a fuel recurve hose to supply vacuum to the Regulator to take the place of the stock hose which no longer works with a high flow air intake. With the open intake there is not enough pressure to actuate the fuel pressure regulator properly. All of this additional air requires more fuel and can cause a leaner mixture but since the '97-'98's run inherently rich from the factory there may be no need for the fuel recurve line. I haven't noticed any problems with mine, in fact it seems to run better with it after I installed a Blackwing last year as compared to the Blackwing without the recurve line or the stock line.
Talk with Jake at Corvette Concepts or go to http://www.vetteguru.com
He was pretty helpful.
