I'm going to replace the shifter on my 01 Coupe. Any Suggestions....Hurst??
The stock shifter is pretty sloppy in my opinion. Saw 2 different ones at the Corvette store. :chevy
I have had a Hurst in nearly every car I have owned, including my current 06. Its a nice shifter but cannot get the thing to be quiet. I have tried everything.

I have a Hurst and love it. It was slightly noisy, I bought a billet Aluminum **** for it and no more noise. Unfortunately, I didn't like the look of that **** so I got a Delrin Hardbar. Fantastic ****!!! But a bit of the noise came back. That problem was solved today, I got my clogged cats removed, now those 550+ ponies to the rears is real loud and I hear no shifter noise!! :D
I used to have an '85 RX-7, and my dad was after me to put in a short shifter. Why bother I said???
Well, after putting in the Hurst in my '03 Vette, I can't live without it, like someone else said above.
To go even further on this point, I test drove an '04 Z06 (Thanks to Monica at Maxie Price!!!), and I was almost lost with the sloppy stock shifter!! Sure, the Z06 handled much tighter than my MN6 Convertible, but the shifting was sort-of hard to get used to!
First thing when buying a C5 with a MN, put in a shifter!!! I would recommend the Hurst. I love mine!!!!

Like most I grew up with Hurst shifters. When they announced they were making them for the C5 I waited anixously until the day it arrived. With a MGW **** I'm in "gear slammin" heaven. I used the installed springs and it does take a few thousand miles for it to break in but now it feels PERFECT.
