Default Rough dyno day.....

Well I dynoed my new setup and found alot of problems....My injectors are way too small, the first pull on the dyno was a measley 434/406 but this was with 26 degrees of timing and pump gas. The A/F was almost 14:1. The valves started floating at 6100 so I never saw peak torque. Run 2 and 3 were basically the same but I tried to richen up the program and basically my injectors are maxed out. Richening up the fuel 15% still yeilded 13.3:1 and 443/408 with valves floating and power dropping off. I guess its back to the drawing board, need new injectors and get some new valve springs. I think I am going to pull the heads to check for some bent valves because I am losing compression in one cylinder.

Your dyno numbers show alot of promise though. Get the 42lb. ford injectors, these will be more than enough for your current setup and give you a little extra room for more horsepower in the future ....afterall we all know you can never have enough HP

Thanks, considering the cam is not matched to the heads, It never hit peak HP for the cam, scary lean A/F and I am adding a EWP...this combo should have another 20-40rwhp left.

Springs?? I thought you just put springs in that thing! I put the Comp 978 on my car a few weeks ago, no problems so far. Good luck with the new set up.

You are already making great power and have not touched the potential yet, sounds like 450++ with no probs.

Phil, man you must got ***** that clank together when you walk-experimenting on your motor and breaking fairly new ground w/o a tuner to assist you! Good luck with the new setup!

If you are floating them at 6100, you definitely need some beefier dual springs, as I think your power peak should be at 6500-6700 (don't remember your cam).

The Ford injectors should be more than enough ($280) and through the C5 fuel pum become 38 lbs I think capable of supporting over 500-550rwhp if I recall. The only problem is they are harder to tune.

Good luck bro'!!!

Well, I guess dyno day is looking better.....Called the Dynoshop and guess what.......
They used generic weather conditions for the correction.....looks like the Horsepower was 3 - 3.5% off. The numbers he gave me were 3 - 3.5% too....LOW.

What you're doing takes time. Lots of potential there. I'm curious, did you rev only to 6100 rpm? What size injectors?

I'm jealous, our "pump gas" is only 91 octane. :(
Best of luck to you.

Lots of power to be unlocked. :yesnod: Some learning pains of creating your own setup looks like it'll be worth it when it is sorted out.

We took the car to 7k on the dyno but after 2 pulls I found out that 6100 was the limit. Power fell from 443 to 350 in a few hundred RPMs. I am running 26lb injectors and going to 42lb. Thanks!
Phillip

I was very upset at the 443 that the car laid down on the dyno. I was talking to Guy(Spinmonster) and we found out that the dyno's corrected #s were 3-3.5% low making that 443rwhp roughly 458rwhp assuming a 3.5% gain and 408rwtq -> 422rwtq which is more inline with what I shooting for. Here's what's next....

1) Meziere Water Pump..10rwhp easy
2) Richened fuel curve, 13.3 -> 12.8 4 - 8rwhp
3) agressive maximized timing tables, 26 - 32 2-5rwhp
4) Larger injectors
