Default Can a Predator be used on a 1997?

Doesn't say it can on the Diablo sport web site - can anyone tell me if I can use it, and if I can't, what do I have as an alternative?

Thanks!

Hi there fellow Countryman!

Unfortunately, the Predator is only compatible with 99MY+ Vettes.
However, depending on what you want to do with it, you could use a Hypertech Power Programmer III (which I have) or you could get a Power Loader II. Your sig doesn't state which tranny you have (A4 or MN6) but, if A4, the Hypertech allows you to increase line pressure (in 4 increments) for firmer shifts and alter shift-points and rev limiter. Also, you can adjust fan switch-on temps and correct speedo for rear gear swaps. The Hypertech (as with the PLII and Predator) also allows you to flash the PCM with a re-programmed fuel/ignition map... I tried this and got pinging and Knock Retard, so reverted back to stock.

Basically, if you have an A4, I'd recommend the Hypertech to firm-up the shifts and alter shift-points. If you have an MN6, I wouldn't bother.

Cheers,
Ian.

IMO I would go for LS1 Edit. Much better than the Predator and plus it will work on our 97's. The HPP3 is useless IMO. When I had my 98 T/A it only gave me an additional 3-4 rwhp. The only benefit I got out of it was that it made my cooling fans turn on sooner.

Where can I get LS1 Edit?

Also - does it allow the other stuff that HPP3 does (which is actually what I was wanting to buy one of these for) - Shift Point changing, Shift sharpening, Shift stiffening and fan adjustment?

I've put an order in with Lingenfelter for HPP3, but I'll cancel it if LS1 edit does all the other stuff and more....

Oh, yeah, and if it ain't obvious, I do have an A4 (at least until I can have it converted to MN12).... :D
