Default Another column lock Question

Anyone know the best solution to the column lock issue? Is it best to install the bypass kit or a solid plate in place of the notched one? It sounds like people are still getting service codes after installing the bypass.
Will this happen with the solid plate?
Is it still possible to have a lockup after installing the bypass?
Also, if anyone has installed the bypass kit and getting the "service column lock" code, is the fuel supply shutting off?
I love these electronics! :mad

With the A4,you cant beat the GM disable kit...With the M6,the CLB is the only solution :yesnod:

Should have done this CLB thing a long time ago. Ordering one tomorrow. This happened with no warning at all. Struggled for 2 hours doing all the tricks. Had it towed back home on a flatbed and now it won't screw up again.
No matter what it costs, it's still just a Chevy.

I had this happen on a long lonely desert highway in New Mexico. Not a nice experience. I have a 2001 MN6.

You will need to have the column lock serviced and repaired by GM before you can install the CLB kit. Otherwise, the kit will not fully function. GM should fix your problem under warranty or CYA (they are in the middle of a class action lawsuit over this). Either way, the CLB will not work until you fix the column lock.

Good luck.
