[FBODY!!!] New LS1 NA record!!!
David Douberly arrived at the shop friday night at 10:30pm with the newly freshened up 436 LS1 engine. The guys over at school of automotive machine (SAM) pulled it off of the dyno only a few hours prior to him leaving Houston. We knew it was going to be a long weekend, so we got started right away with the assembly of the car. After working through the night, we fired the car off early saturday morning. She sounded healthy, and the chassis dyno backed up our gut feeling that all was well.
We headed off to Hallsville to get some track time. The first few passes, the track was still not bedded in properly, and the car was a real handfull to keep between the lines. I lifted before going through the lights on the 2nd pass and the car went 9.83 @128. after some suspension tuning and general tweaking here and there we finally pulled down a new record pass for NA ls1 powered cars, the slip read like this.
60' 1.322
1/8 6.19
MPH 111.43
1/4 9.69
MPH 141.22
Prior to that pass the car went 9.735 / 9.75 and we backed up the record pass with a 9.70 @139.
If you don't know this car go check it out http://www.thebeaSSt.com . Congrats to Dave and Steven, this record has been 2 years in the making and there's more still to come out of this baby. The MMT crew is behind you 150%, lets go get that 9.50 pass!!!
