Default LS-1 Edit or Ed Wright??

The dilemma: I have recently swapped out the rear and Torque converter as well as tranny. Went from 2.73 to 3.15 and a Yank 3000 TC. Started getting the dredded 1870 code. Consensus is that programming will fix the code. I have two choices: travel 110 miles to Ed Wright in Tulsa and let him do a dyno tune or purchase an LS-1 Edit and tune myself. The cost will be about the same either way. Ed Wright would obviously do a better job not only in tuning out the 1870 code but squeeze a little more performance out of her. But what if something ever happened to Ed, God forbid. What if he decides to get out of the business, etc? I like to be a little more independent. What would you guys do?? BTW: this is a '97 so a Predator is out.

I'd definitely go the LS1 Edit route. I'm no fan of the PCM locking business. I got caught in the TTS Powerloader locked programmer and poor service mess. Never again.

There is plenty of help and info available to help you with LS1 Edit.

I am on the same boat. I will be going with LS1 Edit for the versatility and when I get more serious mods, have a tuner use my copy of Edit for a dyno tune.

LS1 Edit - I'd stay away from Ed's locked PCMs too. My .02.
