LS-1 Edit and Autotap??
I know this belongs in the Scan and Tune forum, but I wasn't getting any response over there and I was needing some quick info to make a decision on. This is probably a dumb question but I'm not too familiar with the LS-1 Edit other than its great for just about any kind of tuning and changes that can possibly be made to the computer:rolleyes: but do you really need Autotap for LS-1 Edit? I would have thought that LS-1 Edit would have its own scanning and diagnostic capabilities along with the tuning abilities. I have the Autotap and I'm seriously considering the LS-1 Edit to take care of this nagging 1870 code along with maybe some power tuning. But if LS-1 Edit has some diagnostics, then I can sell the Autotap and use the proceeds for other mods! Thanks for any help! :D

LS1 Edit has no scanning capability. You need both the logging tool, ATAP, and the editor, LS1 Edit, to implement the changes you determined you need/want with the scanner.

Yes it is worth it to get atap But the best is EFI LIVE get it! (dist. by the same people) It will help you understand what the car is doing and why. It is the best investment I have EVER made. You will see trends in fuel as well as timing curves and it is much easier to use than any other scanner i have ever used PERIOD.
