Hey guys,
I'm in the process of doing ported heads, custom cam, long tubes and a custom tune...expecting around 415 at the rear wheels. Will a Z06 clutch/pressure plate hold up? The car is a daily driver adn I don't really want to deal with a heavy clutch pedal.
Any input or suggestions would be appreciated
Thanks,
Frank

The Z06 clutch is an excellent choice and good for up to around 500 RWHP with no worries. My 2001 is also a daily driver, 433 RWHP and 437 RWTQ (MTI dyno) and I replaced my entire C5 stock OEM clutch setup when the slave and master started locking my pedal on the floorboard - warranty coverage.
I had the dealer replace the clutch disc, pressure plate, flywheel (all 3 come as an assembly that you will want to have zero-balance machined before installing), throwout and pilot bearings, slave and master clutch. Used a 2002 Z06 setup. Been great ever since.
If you have to pay out of your own pocket the whole project - parts & labor - should run around $1500 or so.
If you ever plan to drag race with slicks or even drag radials don't waste your money on the ZO6 clutch. I had one with bolt ons only. Probably right around 300 RWHP and smoked that thing 2nd time at the track. The first time I had the pedal sticking to the floor. I think it is fine for the street, but if you ever plan to hook, go with something tougher. Just my .02 cents
