Default Which gauges should I go with?

I am looking at installing a dual gauge pod! I have picked out the Autometer cobalt gauges. I know that I want an A/F ratio gauge but I can't decide on my 2nd gauge. Its between a fuel pressure gauge or a transmission temp gauge. I am leaning torwards the transmission gauge because I do run at the track occasionally. The fuel pressure gauge would be nice as well. What do you think?

Thanks!

Hi dahoof! Have you seen the new Defi D-gauge line of gauges? They nicely complement the C5's OEM gauges plus they're manufactured by the same company that supplies GM with the OEM gauge cluster and HUD unit. The Defi A/F Ratio gauge uses a needle like the rest of their gauges for a consistent and clean look.

If you're interested, please check out the following thread for more information and pictures: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=645655

p.s. I would go with the Fuel Pressure gauge as your second gauge. Good luck with your decision!

Use a three gage pod and go with all six, three down each side for the complete look.

Thanks! Why would you go with Fuel pressure over Trans Temp?

You're welcome!

The fuel pressure gauge over the trans temp gauge was just my personal preference if I had to decide between the two. No other reason.

Dave,
I am going with the Fuel Pressure & A/F Ratio Gauges in a dual pod. I have looked and every gauge out there and still can't decide. Here is what I have it narrowed down to:

Cobalt Gauges:
Day

Night

PROS - Good looking gauges and the blue backlight color along with the aluminum bezel blends in very well with the factory gauge color at night. Especially if you have gauge bezels on your factory gauges.
CONS - I do not like the sweeping bar on the A/F ratio gauge. It is constantly sweeping back and forth and its very annoying.

Defi (D-Gauge)
Day

Night

PROS - They are great looking gauges and look very close to factory. I really like the fact that the A/F ratio gauge has a regular needle instead of the annoying sweeping bar. I like the pointer on the rotating bezel which can be removed to reveal an aluminum bezel, cool!
CONS - I don't like that they are backlit in an orange glow instead of a blueish glow that would match my factory gauges perfect at night. I can't have an orange glow on the pillar and a blue glow on the dash, it just wouldn't look right.

Decisions, decisions...

Keith, I hope you don't mind me using your pics.

I have the Cobalt FP and AF gauges. The backlit color looks great and the gauges themselves look great with the OEM cluster. I agree with MT about the AF sweeping effect. IMO, Autometer should have used a needle instead of lights.

Not a problem at all. Thanks!

Just to add to the above, the black bezel you see on the Defi images can be removed to reveal an aluminum bezel if you desire. It's great if you want to match your Aluminum Gauge Bezels or if you just want the aluminum trim look. All 2 1/16" D-gauge gauges come with this removable black bezel with red arrow. This bezel can be rotated, so that a critical point can be marked with the arrow.
