Did I install it wrong?

I just installed the Performance Hood Seal on my 00 hardtop. There were no instructions included with the seal, so I checked out a couple websites and both said intsall the sticky side against the vertical part of the front bumper, with the other flat side facing downwards. I did it, and it looks like %$@! On each side, about 4 - 6 inches in from the lights, I have this nice visible white strip showing between the hood and the bumper, which is the edge of the foam. The hood is also difficult to close now. Do I have it backbuttwards or something? This is supposed to be simple!

I put the sticky side on the bottom.

OKay, I just reinstalled it sticky side down. It looks great, hood shuts just fine - problem solved. Thanks for your help...I was feeling a bit stupid there for awhile.
