Default Yank 2800 stall

What is the brake stall on these stalls. How high can it stall before the tires start to push the car forward. Is it worth the 300$ extra to jump to a 3000. That is what I want to be but for 300$ 2000 more rpm's doesnt semm like a bunch of difference.

IMO, for a basically stock internal engine the 2800 is a great TC. One important thing though is, what is the Stall Torque Ratio (STR) of these converters? The STR is how much the torque is multiplied to the tires. I have heard of a 2800 stall TC with a 2.5 STR which SMOKES the tires and is incredible off the line :D I have heard of a Yank 3000 has a STR of 2.0.....which will easily roast the tires but is a bit easier on the launch and is great down low and in the mid range rpm's.

All this said, the 2800 with 2.5 STR is an awesome TC IMO and so is the 3000. Good luck.

How high you can brake stall a converter will depend on how loose the design of that converter is. IMO if you are going to spend the extra money go for at least a 3500 stall.
