I'm considering the installation of an Underdrive Pulley from MTI, however, I've also heard of ASP. Which one do you think is better and why? Are there other brands out there that you recommend? For those that had one installed - did you see a 9 hp increase at the rear wheels as some advertise?
I've read where some people have experienced cracks in their pulley after a relatively short period of time due to poor quality of the product. Has anyone had a bad experience with an Underdrive Pulley? Please share the good, bad and the ugly. Will this product void the warranty?
Re: Underdrive Pulleys: MTI vs ASP vs ??? (AlohaC5)
MTI and ASP underdrive pulleys are one of the same. And there are no others. MTI helped ASP with the development/testing of the UD pulley for the C5. So buy it from who ever has it the cheapest.:yesnod: Just be sure when you order it that it comes with a crank bolt and belts.
You'll realisticly see about 5-7 rwhp increase with this mod.
Re: Underdrive Pulleys: MTI vs ASP vs ??? (AlohaC5)
My understanding was that they were both the same as well. I had the ASP on my car for a couple of years before I went to FI. It worked well without any problems. The next guy I sold it to installed it and some time later it walked off the crank and was not usable anymore. I dont know how that happened, at least he had his OE pulley to re-install.
