The Exhaust on my C5 LEFT side broke this morning. It sounds like a Log Truck. I think it broke over the axle..I took it to the Muffler shop and he goes on that it probably can't be fixed and needs to be replaced etc...Is he full of :bs Can it be fixed long enough for me to get B&B in a few weeks? What has been your experience?

Re: Has Your C5 Exhaust Ever Broken? (LowFlight)
No problems with mine, but I changed out the stock exhaust after only two months of ownership. I have read about a number of forum members having this problem.
I had mine replaced under warrenty. A weld broke lose on the driver side at about 28,000 miles. If your not under warrenty this might be a good time to consider an upgrade... performance exhaust.
My Corsas broke 3 times in the same spot. I finally just had them remove the mufflers and went w/ straight pipes. Kept the tips tho. Looked and sounded great. kaley
Mine broke about a week ago. I brought it into the local Chevy dealer yesterday to have them look at it figuring they would be the ones who can repair it. I had them change my oil while my '99 FRC (19K miles) was there. When they were done, the service guy tells me it can't be repaired, my exhaust flange broke off on the driver's side (muffler side of flange), and that I needed a whole new exhaust. They also said a nut had fallen off my my sway bar link and that I would have to buy a new link($100 installed) to get that nut since they didn't have that nut. They charged me $35.00 just to tell me the exhaust couldn't be fixed on top of the cost of the oil change and lube. It had to be up on the lift anways. Long story short, I went to a muffler guy and he welded the flange back on and welded the passenger side just in case. The muffler guy also found a nut for my sway bar link (no charge) and tightened it back up. That Chevy dealer must see $$$$ signs when somebody with a Vette comes in for a service. First experience with that dealer and probably my last. I am sure there are some good dealers around.
Hey not to hi-jack this post but as someone mentioned I have a complete exhaust from manifold gaskets to the tips w/ 3K miles in perfect condition that I took off for my FLP+GHL :D . It's to much room for storage so if anyone wants it I can part with it pretty cheap.
