Default Retractable head lights...

Can anyone tell me if I can adjust the retractable headlight so it closes in line with the hood of the car. It doesn't closes quite right, it actually sets itself a tad to far in when closed. If someone could give me some pointers or had similar issues, some advice would greatly be appreciated. I would really like to see this fixed.

thanks,

Alan

Hi & welcome Alan!
my headlights did the same thing (mainly thanks to a peice of "re-tread" that wakd my front end at 80 mph :cuss ) but while repairing I learned how to adjust it.
its easy but time consuming to get right, first raise up the lights and use a philips screwdriver to remove the black shroud (2 screws on one side, 1 on the other) just rotate it forward and it will slide up and out
use a torx bit to remove the fiberglass cover from the bracket (2 in back, 1 on each side) now lower the lights
after you remove it, you will see 4 white plastic nuts (i think theyre 10mm) these are what is used to adjust it on all for corners
before you adjust, use a flathead to remove the metal screw tabs from the fiberglass cover
adjust the 4 white nuts accordingly and lay the fiberglass cover back down on it to check level

after all that and you get it adjusted the way you want it (easy, they will only adjust so far before coming out) reinstall the metal screw-tabs, raise headlights and reverse the install! when you reinstall the black shroud, be sure the big plastic tabs on it go back under the metal tab on the underside of the cover. I hope this helps!
