Over the last few weeks I have been working on a spreadsheet to show the relationship of gearing selection, speed, gforce, thrust, etc. http://www.vetteguru.com/apps/
gforce.xls
I want to eventually add graphing, and a few other items, but thought this would be helpful to those curious about what gearing/diff selection does.
Its also interesting to see the relationships of HP increases relative to just diff changes and how either equally improve thrust/g-force.
I put the relavent C5 drop downs in there, but any number can be entered and should work for any car.
Replace FWTQ from your dyno sheet to get your numbers. I included some typical C5 numbers.
Re: Gear/Diff Selection Calculator With G-Force (kewlbrz)
Very Cool Shawn! I'm still on the fence between 3.90's and 4.10's with my M6 tranny. A friend is putting in 4.10's on October 6, so I just may wait to drive his before making my decision.
Re: Gear/Diff Selection Calculator With G-Force (kewlbrz)
Why can't I get your sreadsheet to open? Windows (Mellenium) It asks me what progam I want to use to open it with .....none of the options seem to work. Would you email me a copy at tizmarco@comcast.net
I'm contemplating taking Cartek up on their special gearing promo and can't decide between 3.90 & 4.10. Thanks
