:iagree: :thumbs: I have Optima Redtop but some C5 owners went with the Yellow Top b/c they have amplifiers running high end sound systems. I think its a deeper cycle battery. Not sure really what that means though.
If you drive your car all the time, then get the red battery. If you drive it once in a while, get the yellow top. If you live in an area where the climate is cold, the Optima battery may not be for you....
On a related note, a lot of F-body LS1/LS6 guys use lightweight batteries (Dynabatt, Hawker Genesis etc.) for racing (and street use, I even got one recently) and I was wondering why C5 racers don't try this 'weight saving' mod? Is it just that the C5s have so many computers/electronics (especially well optioned (F45, HUD) models) that it would drain the small battery way too fast or has simply no one even tried this yet?...It's like a 22+ pound weight reduction off of the middle/front of the car? :yesnod:
