I had a great time and every run was better than my best. Too bad Hallsville fixed the starting line by making it level instead of slightly down hill. Hallsville is no longer a down hill track, just preped really well.
Last night I saw alot of 10.X cars which was awesome. Steve drove his mag supercharged vette to a really good time and corey did even better at 11.8 at over 120. The Rwhite crew ran some great times for a NA auto.
MCTorchRED - It was really nice to meet you. I guess you backed up your smack talk you beat me by .1 both times. Your car launches great. email me at cscollis@swbell.net and we can do it again at HRP after I get a better torque converter.
Now for my car, I got personal bests in 60' 1.78, 1/8th 7.862 and 1/4 12.25, 1/4 mph 113.5. This was with me driving. With my friend Mitch driving in the worst DA of the night he ran 12.20 at 113.89, this is when I was running 12.35 at 111.85. My weight cost me a 12.0 at 114 for the night. But hey the weight watchers starts tonight, and a new SS3600 stall goes in as soon as I can get 1.
As for Gary, Mitch talked alot about betting up Gary on the track. Mitch is quick especially he had to shift his auto manually, BUT my money would be on Gary by .15 and 1 mph. Very competitive but gary's car will just pull past.
Overall a great night except the 2 hour drive, met alot of cool peeps and saw alot over 50 awesome vettes.
Re: Xtreme Corvette Challenge was a blast! - long (cscollis)
:smash: Your car's running strong Scott. I need to dump the 275 BFGs - kept spinning to 1.9x 60's even after pretty hefty burnouts. Best I could muster for the night was a 12.4 (which I guess I shouldn't complain about with pretty much just intake/headers/gears. ;) )
Re: Xtreme Corvette Challenge was a blast! - long (The One)
Great Runs Scott. It is nice to beat ALL YOUR Personal BESTS, 60', MPH, 1/8 mile times, 1/4 miles times. Not bad. I wish I could have went to hang out and race with everyone.
What did Roger and Mitch (MC Torch Red) run? What was their best et/mph? I am sure they will post soon.
I am ready to go to Ennis soon so I can see what I get in the 1/4 now with the cooler weather. I ran my current 1/4 time when it was over 90 degrees out. I would love to get an 11 second time slip, but 11 seconds isn't easy and Ennis is a tough track to get great times. We need to go sometime in October. It was 59 degrees here in Lewisville, TX this morning. Even better times are ahead with this cool weather.
Congrats Scott and I wonder what you have in store for me next time we race in your "Bag of Tricks"? If you do get the Laughing Gas, I am in trouble, but I already know your wife doesn't want you to get it since you already drive too fast and race everyone as it is. 12.2 is a very respectable time.
Re: Xtreme Corvette Challenge was a blast! - long (2001 Red Coupe Bandit)
Had a great time hanging out with everybody and running on the best prepared 1/4 mile track within reasonable driving distance of DFW.
A thanks to SteveL for letting me co-drive his mag supercharged beast on his fresh BFG drag radials. The traction problems we were having in the past with street tires is now non-existant, we just need to figure out how to launch as neither us has/had any experience with drag radials.
Re: Xtreme Corvette Challenge was a blast! - long (C5 StockSwap)
Hello guys I enjoyed watching all the fast cars and smelling the burning rubber last night. Got to meet alot of nice CF members & friends. The 60-70+ Vette turn out really impressed the track owner so he and Xtreme Corvettes are talking about doing this again in November of this year. I will have my new FLP tranny then and will be ready to represent .
Re: Xtreme Corvette Challenge was a blast! - long (LittleBoyBlu99)
LittleBoyBlu99, it was very nice to meet you and MCTorchRed last night! It nice to see guys at the track and have some good tech talks about our cars. I know my son had a great time also.
The number of fast 'Vettes there last night was a sight to see.
Re: Xtreme Corvette Challenge was a blast! - long (RWhite)
RWhite" I enjoyed meeting you and your son as well. Man you guys get that new Yank converter in that car  it's going to be scary & fast  . The Hallsville crowd was large and that made the event even more a sucess. Those mid to low 10sec Vettes were fun to watch . :hurray:   :hurray:
Re: Xtreme Corvette Challenge was a blast! - long (MC TORCH RED)

Yea I forgot to add he was in reverse also. Mitch I would not talk too much trash as I was pulling on the big end both runs and Garys car is quicker in the 1/8 and will pull you on the big end. Sorry Gary but I had to talk trash on your behalf.
I am calling Chris to get a new TC as I write this! Beware when I get installed, 11.9's with my fat butt driving!
Re: Xtreme Corvette Challenge was a blast! - long (cscollis)
That was a great event, and doing it again in November, IF we can get some nice COLD weather, would rock. I can't believe Scott didn't mention that he perfectly nailed his 12.25 dial in during some of the disqualification rounds. Pretty sweet -- I didn't both to participate in that portion of the evening since my times were varying by mutiples of tenths rather than hundreds!
It was fun, and other than being too tired today, I look forward to doing it again.
