ideally you would simply but a 2-cat h-pipe from someone, OR get the front half from someone who has installed headers. Because your car has the multi-layer insulated pipes, welding in "normal" exhast tubing can be tricky.
Don't cut them out, just take off the whole h-pipe and punch out all the catalyst in the pre-cats.Alot of guys have done this with no Ill effects, it will flow better and sound better also.This way is cheaper than finding someone with an h-pipe that has no pre-cats and having to replace it.

I was amazed that any exhaust could even pass thru because it looked very restrictive. If you do gut them becareful not to let the cat-residue fall into the main cats because they can plug them up. :smash:
