I have 3.90s in my a4 and driveability is great at 73mph 2600 rpm the only thing that is a bit of a problem with gearing an a4 is you have less of a passing gear on the highway because 2nd gear is shorter example when I had 3.42 i could up to 98 mph in second at 6800 now I can only go 78 mph at 6800

There is another long standing member here who is not that active anymore, RED 98 C5, and he has had 4.10s for about 1.5 years in his A4 and he runs mid 11s all day and does a ton of highway driving to, and i know from speaking to him that HE LOVES HIS 4.10s in his A4.

It really does not feel much different. Quicker to respond obviously. Low speeds hardly notice anything. Highway speeds will be louder with the higher rpm, about 2400-2500 at 75 mph, if you have loud exhaust.
I have taken some nice high mileage trips with it including a 1400 mile trip to Bradenton, FL from NJ to race in the Corvette Challenge there. I have Z06 Ti exhaust so it was not loud at all and it got about 17-18 MPG.
I have them in there about 7 months now.
