O.K. here's a dirty little secret of the car business. The mechanic gets paid for specific jobs based on how many hours are considered standard for that job. So if the book calls for the job being 3 hours but it only takes him 1 hour, he still gets paid for 3 hours. A guy who works an 8 hour day could easily get paid for 20 hours of work if he blows through what he's given quickly. So a lot of these guys cut corners and don't give a damn about the underside of your rocker panels or anything else for that matter. Your corvette is no different from a cavalier to most of them. It's all about $. :rant:

Local dealer lifted mine w/o using the pucks and cracked the passenger side rocker panel.
