LS1 SPRING PROBLEMS SOLVED, I THINK ?
COMP CAM HAS JUST RELEASED A NEW LS1 SPRING, IT'S CALLED THE GM
HIGH PERFORMANCE LS1 DUAL SPRING. THE FOLLOWING ARE IT'S SPECS:
135 LBS @ 1.770 ( NO MACHING, DROP IN)
400 LBS @ 1.220
COIL BIND @ 1.040
MAX LIFT .650
I'VE BEEN USING THE COMP CAM BLUE STRIPE SPRINGS ON TWO DIFFERENT CAM APPLICATIONS. FIRST WAS A TR 220/.553/114 NO PROBLEMS. CURRENTLY I'M RUNNING A CUSTOM GROUND CAM FROM SUPERIOR AUTO IN ANAHEIM CALIF. JOE JILL IS DOING SOME GREAT LS1 WORK. THAT CAM IS GROUND BY COMP FOR SUPERIOR AUTO USING MY FLOW NUMBERS AS A GUIDE. IT'S, 214/222/.575/.582/115, AND I'M USING BLUE STRIPE SPRINGS. AGAIN NO PROBLEMS.
I THINK THESE NEW SPRINGS JUST MIGHT GIVE US SOME ADDED SAFETY
ON THESE EXPENSIVE MOTORS.
