Perf Upgrade for Stock LS1?
I know there are 427 options out there, but I don't have that kind of cash. In any case, I've read quite a few comments that say while the extra horses are great, it's not worth the money you put into it.
To be honest, if I could have ordered a LS6 engine/powertrain set-up in coupe form, I would have. (Curse you GM! Well, not really.)
What I'm looking for is something that's Z06-esque or better. Anyone have any suggestions for parts/pieces/perf.-package as well as shop to install everything? (I live in the Macon, GA area.)
Thanks in advance for the comments.
 :steering:

Step 2: Muffler system for improved sound, looks and 5-8rwhp. Brand and model would depend on what type of sound, and how loud you want your exhaust. There also many tip options. They run from $400 - $800.
Step 3: Long Tube Headers, many options available, I highly recommend Stainless Works, which get you the most for your money: best quality and fitment, excellent power gains (~15rwhp without tuning), 304 stainles steel construction with lifetime warranty.. All for around $1000.
Step 4: For an M6, I highly recommend an aftermarket shifter. It may not get you any extra ponies but you do notice it, and love it, everytime you drive your car. There are a few to choose from. I recommend either the Hurst or the B&M Ripper. They are all around the $170-200 range.
Step 5: Get a good PCM tuning done on a chassis dyno with a wide-band 02 sensor to get your air/fuel mixtures perfect after you add all of the mods previously mentioned.
Step 6: This is where you have to start dipping into the engine internals to gain any more power that is worth the money. You can go with a cam-only install and get ~30+rwhp depending on how agressive you want, etc. Then there are heads/cam packages that start in the $3500-4000 range installed and tuned, or less if you want to do the install yourself. You can also go the Supercharger or Turbo forced induction route if you want to not touch your engine. You are looking ~$5000 for the kit and then another $2000 for install and tuning.

Ask for Rob, tell them that Dave Thompson sent you. You will not be sorry
I have them on my 2000 SS and it is a trip to drive and hp/tq out the wazoo. No heads , no cam- all stock innards. At 5lbs boost she has 486RWHP and matching torque. Next stop a stroker and a REAL REAR!!
