I installed the Blackwing tonight on my 99 coupe. For a while there I was struggling trying to figure out how to remove the clamp that holds the MAF to the airbox assembly but finally I was able to figure it out. Anyway everything is assembled and installed. The only problem now is that the holes and grommets on the sides of the stock airbridge no longer line up with the pegs on the radiator fan shroud.
I have already made sure that the coupler between the MAF and airbridge and the one between the MAF abd Blackwing are on as far as they can go.
I know it iwill probaably not cause any mechanical issues aside from rubbing the hood liner while the hood is closed. It sure doesn't seem right since the Blackwing appears to be a very high quality product.
The one on my 97 fit nicely. I had a little trouble on the Z06. Make sure the front mounts are correct and then try to get the rears (on top of shroud) to fit. If they still do not fit I would loosen the 4 bolts holding the shroud cover and see if I could get it to move a little.

You will have to loosen all the hose clamps a little. Push down and sideways until the studs line up with the grommets. Then tighten the clamps back. It takes little while to do,but no big deal. Make sure all your connections are air tight. Little here and there and it will work out. Hope this helps!!!! :seeya
Re: Problem installing Blackwing... (NEED FOR SPEED)
Thanks guys I will give it another try tonight.
I did find a picture off of JimX's website of a C5 engine with a Blackwing installed which has the same issues with the airbridge as mine. Here is the link:
Welcome to the Blackwing club! I installed mine a few weeks ago, and am no master mechanic. I researched other's experiences and found several install tips. The best one to me was to install starting at the airbox grommets, working back to the throttle body. Donelson's instructions are kind cryptic, I need pretty pictures
