Gear Change Adding Torque and Reducing Top End
I am going from 3.15 to 3.73 in my A4. I think the increase in RWTQ and decrease in top end speed are both around 16%??? Does anyone know the math equation to figure this out :bb

With a 3.73 your top speed @ 6000RPM works out to be 172. If your C5 has no other mods to significantly increase your horsepower then your top speed would still be around 170 even if your gearing indicates you could go faster.

That is good info, but how did you fgure it out? I read a recent post that said 3.15 to 3.42 resulted in an 8.5% increase in RWTQ. Is there a formula to figure these #s? Just my curiosity.
