I looked into this a while back. Although I wasn't able to get 100% of the info; I came to the conclusion that the Z06 cam would only show enough benefit if you also swapped in:
* Z06 rocker springs
* Z06 larger MAF (if the A4 was a 2000 or earlier model)
* Z06 intake manifold (if the A4 was a 2000 or earlier model)
* "probably" the Z06 heads as well
I had been advised that if I wasn't going with the Z06 heads, then an aftermarket cam would be a better match to the LS1 heads.
It can be done but the cost is whats not worth it plus im not sure it could give you the .2 you are looking for. I guess you want to run as low 12s as possible so you dont have to put a bar in the car. How about 3.73 gears?
IMO the Z06 cam is not worth the trouble and money you would have to spend for installation. There are other aftermarket cams that will give you more power and will not hurt your cars driveability :cheers:

GM increased the seat pressure and used light weight valves with this cam to prevent valve float. The article I read stated that at 6200 rpm's the valvetrain would have considerable distress above 6200 rpm's using the valves and springs from the earlier model years. This leads me to another question. Could you use the earlier (heavier), solid valves and just change to springs with a higher rating than the stock 2002 and up Z06 springs, in order to control the valve float? For example maybe Comp 918's.
This is a great cam if you're turbocharging your motor, but if you're going to stay normally aspirated, there are much better choices out there. Good luck!
