I was ready to put a Donaldson Blackwing on my 2002 Vert until I talked to a reputable performance shop here locally and they suggested I go with a K&N FIPK system. Any thoughts and your reasons would be appreciated!
I would do more research in this forum on cold air systems before you make that choice. The Blackwing Would be my coice of the two. I use the breathless Performance Vortech Ram air and it's performance speaks for it's self on this Forum and on the track. There are others that work well compared to the two you are looking at.

The Blackwing is your best choice for superior filtering, easy install and stock like appearance. Price is ~$200.
If you want to take advantage of the cold air advantage and gain a few extra HP over the Blackwing, the Breathless Performance Vortex is the way to go. It's installation is a bit more difficult than the Blackwing, but it is still pretty simple. Price is ~$230.
If you have any questions or are interested in exact pricing/availability, feel free to drop me an email at mattglas@sympatico.ca. We usually have both of these in stock and ready to ship.
I have used both the breathless and the blackwing. The breathless had a very noticable difference over stock. If you don't want to do any cutting on your car I would go w/ the blackwing. I have the blackwing on my current car. kaley
