I read somewhere that the MAP sensor needs to be replaced when doing the LS6 intake manifold. In all of the posts I have read on this subject, I don't remember anyone saying they had to replace the sensor. Are the sensors different for a '99 LS1 intake and the 2001 and up LS6 intake? I guess it would make sense that the measured MAP could be different due to the different design of the manifold and may be calibrated differently. Thanks.

I do believe the MAP sensor is inside the manifold somwhere, no need to replace it. I hope you are not talking about the MAF? No need to replace that either. LS6 manifold is a direct bolt on. make sure you have the coolant re-route line kit if you do not want to do a little grinding.
The MAP sensor is located on the rear of the intake and fits in a round socket, kind of like how a headlamp bulb is installed..

Thanks. Somewhere, I found a list of parts needed to do the swap and the MAP (Manifold Air Pressure) sensor and gasket were on the list of parts. I didn't realize that the intake manifold already came with it installed.
