Default What is the optimal oil pressure?

What should the oil pressure be at during normal driving? When I get my foot in it, should the oil pressure rise to 60? Is this normal?

Thanks.

You want (something in the neighborhood of) 10 PSI per 1000 RPMs.

I get 42 psi with 10W30 Mobile 1 at 60 mph. about 20 at idle. This is good oil pressure and was within 1# of the above numbers when new out of the box. 10 / 1000 rpm is good for mineral oil but the mobile 1 will be slightly lower. 99 nassau blue

Most C5s run around 40 psi after warm-up, at normal speeds. :yesnod: :)
