17/315s because you will have more sidewall....less sidewall will give you a stiffer tire and not hook as well.

I am thinking of drag radials too. Why 17in as opposed to 18in?

If they make them in a 295/ 17" get it. Over sized tires on rims don't hook as good. The tire cups in the middle if tire pressure is low. I run a stock aftermarket 17"/ 9.5 rim with the correct offset and the 275/40 17" Bite!

I ran many races with 275/17 and 315/17. I found the 315 was a little more consistent.

Have not run with the 18" but have seen good results here.

I had good results with the 315/35/17 on 17x11.5.

I've driven the BFG 315/30/18 on the street for a couple months this summer, but never had a chance to try them out on the strip. This will soon change as I plan on running the BFG 315/30/18 full-time, and anticipate hitting the track as often as possible now that the weather is cooling off here in Texas :D

Hey Redgar,

What's the backspacing for these? Did you use ZR-1's all the way around? :chevy

Sorry not sure of backspacing. I got pictures though. Mine were AFS repros. http://www.corvettechallenge.info/C5zr-1wheels/
