My door lock will not open electrically on the driver side. It will open with the key or manual. I have programmed it to NOT lock when driving so I can open it without having to manually open the door. The dealer is telling me this is a common problem. The module  needs replacing and will solve this problem. Has anyone else had this problem and if so what module will cause this. thanks 99 Nassau Blue :U
pretty common mine switches sides. Be sure there locking my passenger side doesn't always lock when i push remote, you cant tell if both lock by the noise.
...A mere $200+ from what I've been told will get you a new module...
Hmmm, I've been having intermittent problems with the locks on with my 2002 coupe. I'd like to take take apart the doors to install some speakers, and I'd prefer NOT to have the dealer technicians mess with my car. It seem like everytime I've taken one of my cars home from a dealership service trip, I've had to crawl under and fix or adjust something, from a rattling muffler heat shield to a broken wheel stud. Once, I found a screwdriver left behind in the engine compartment.)
Is there some GM policy against just giving warranty parts to customers, or do you think I can convince my service advisor to save his technicians for another job and give me the parts to fix the issue at home?

Re: Electric door lock won't unlock (jimcork1)
Phew, thought it was just me. :banghead:
Mine is intermittent, usually drivers side, and seems related to coldness. Until it becomes constant, guess I'll keep living with it... or until a group purchase on the module.
