I put four 18x9.5 Z06 style wheels on my 99 C5 but now the traction control system is activating during highway driving. I have been told the computer is programmed for a differential in front and rear spin rates and when they differ too much it activates the traction control. Is this true, can it be reprogrammed, does anybody have any recommendations?
I have the same set up on my 98, and i have no probs. what type of tires are you running, I suppose if the pver all diameter of the wheel is alot bigger there will be a big difference
The ABS module looks for a wheel speed variation of 6mph to detect a fault or activate the ABS,which wouldnt be from a 1" diameter tire difference...The best way to check would be to monitor wheel speeds with a TECH2 :yesnod:

There's your problem. You need to have differing tire sizes, front to back. Try 275/40/18s on the rear and 275/35/18 on the front, that should do the trick.

From playing around swapping wheels I have found out that T/C will cut in very quickly if the front tires are a larger diameter than the rears. In my case T/C applied the rear brakes while coasting down hill in nuetral.
