Default New Wires and Insulating Collars

A couple of months ago, I installed new plugs and wires. I had an idle problem and the C5 was not running as smoothly as it could. This week I drove the car and it starting running like poopy.

So I did some invesitigation and as it turns out one of the wires was resting on the header and had suffered some damage. I subsituted the wire with one of the old ones and the car started running great.

I had scheduled to take the car in to Tony's Corvette Shop for fluid changes. While making those changes, they informed me that I was going to have more problems as a lot of the wires were resting on the headers. So, we made some changes.

They installed GM performance wires with insulating collars. Looks great, runs great and I am sure that I am not going to have that problem again. I attach 3 photos to show you what the install looks like.

:D

Insulating socks for the plug wires are a must IMHO if you have headers. I got mine from West Coast Corvettes :flag
