Last I heard 3 of our supporting tuners had access to the FAST intake and I think that was a couple of weeks ago, anyone heard about any results--I know it doesn't take that long to put one on, I assume they have not received test models yet---
Re: How is the testing on the FAST intake coming (tbyrne)
Thanks guys, Joe your stroker will be of particular interest--I've read the numbers just wonder if someone besides FAST have given the thumbs up on these things--I also just heard that Vararam is coming out with a setup in the next couple of weeks I thought I heard that Patrick had scraped the idea of an intake I'll have to call tom. and see if I can get some info--if I do I will post
Re: How is the testing on the FAST intake coming (tbyrne)
There was a test version of the intake at Bristol bash last weekend, nice looking product, I think they will start to ship in the next month from what Comp told me.
I dont expect spectacular gains from this product, but maybe I will be pleasently surprized :)
Re: How is the testing on the FAST intake coming (Heretic)
I was thinking the same thing about mismatch hp increases. Are these all rwhp numbers or flywheel?
From what I've read, most people get about 10-15rwhp when going from the LS1 to the LS6 intake.
Here's an example - just pulling numbers out of my butt:
take 400rwhp with an LS1 intake, then put the LS6 intake on, you end up with 415rwhp. if you then go to the LSX intake, you should see 430rwhp?
but since the the LSX intake is only worth 20hp from an LS1 intake, then if you go back to an LS1 intake, you end up with 410rwhp. uh... math no worky. you should be at 400.
they are either way over optimistic with gains over the LS6, or are way under estimating gains over the LS1.
I know, this is all moot, but just seems like something isn't quite right. Can't wait to start seeing some real dyno numbers.
Re: How is the testing on the FAST intake coming (jfpilla)
I think its pretty clear, but I agree that people need to get their phrasing correct (esp vendors). I assume that by LS1, they mean 97-00 manifolds, and by "Z06" they mean 01-04 manifolds.
As for the 15 and 20rwhp gains, guys, its just estimates. Don't expect the numbers to add up. I assume we'll have some more accurate numbers soon...until then we just wait.
Re: How is the testing on the FAST intake coming (jackmott)
Most people I have seen on this forum going from a 97-00 LS1 intake to the LS6 intake has seen very little gains. I believe the 5 hp difference is about right on.
Mean Green can comment more on this because he did this swap on his 2000.
Re: How is the testing on the FAST intake coming (tbyrne)
Wonder what the gains would be on an s/c motor with this intake? Heck, perhaps you could extrude hone it first and I'm sure you'd see some killer numbers! :yesnod:
Re: How is the testing on the FAST intake coming (NEPTUNEBILL)
talking to a couple of our tuners this past week it would seem we are still a month or two away from seeing the product shipped out for testing--anybody heard anything diff--
Re: How is the testing on the FAST intake coming (NEPTUNEBILL)
I've heard basically the same thing. One of our Forum Vendors who was suppose to get a manifold for testing told me that the Manufacturer has had some fitment problems, and they have delayed the release till who know's when......
