Re: CAGS disconnected now Check Engine Light is on. (BlackBlur)
Boy that's wierd ! I wouldn't think that would cause the check engine light to come on - it has nothing to do with engine functions just the tranny !!
Re: CAGS disconnected now Check Engine Light is on. (BlackBlur)
"Check Engine" is what will appear when the cags is disconnected. As mentioned above, you need a bypass or the resister installed to simulate the solenoid so it appears all is functioning correctly. Don't forget to seal the socket in the transmission where the plug was pulled. :flag

Re: CAGS disconnected now Check Engine Light is on. (BlackBlur)
Thanks for the help. Just so I am clear on the resistor, do I plug it into the connector attached to the wire or into the tranny where the CAGS wire was connected? Thanks again.

The tranny!
I don't think so - the wiring harness side is what is connected to the computer.

The computer has to see the 2.2K resistor load which it assumes is the solenoid. That is all to say the resistor goes into the wiring harness end and not the transmission.

 I just went through this when I had my Random Technology X-Pipe & High Flow cats installed. I had two 02 sims installed, problem gone.
