Well I am not sure what is available for the C5, BUT,
I once bought a replacement antenna mast for my RX-7. Took me hours to install it in the motor... I swore I would never do that again, just buy the whole motor/mast assembly.. BUT ALSO, I swore I would just put in a fixed antenna. When you think about it, the only reason to have a complicated motor antenna is because someone may come by and break your antenna for you.. but they eventually ALWAYS wear out and break themselves. And, they cost so much if anyone EVER did break you fixed mast, replacements are cheap anyway.

Doesn't the Z06/hardtop have a fixed mast you could substitute?

do you have a 'vert? while not bent like yours, my power antennae has been acting up lately. for what it's worth, if it goes, i'm going to look into a shorty (less than 6") rubberized fixed antennae. the heck with the motorized version. those short rubberized antennae's don't break, and look pretty good. i'm sick of the whistle that the tall antennae causes at anything over 40 mph, plus i listen mostly to cd's and don't even need the power mast. you might want to check into doing the same. good luck either way.

My remedy for this was to put a switch in line with the power antenna and now I leave it down when I listen to CD's, which is most of the time. As a matter of fact, the FM reception is strong enough (city dweller) that I usually leave it down for FM as well. I figure the motor will last longer than I will because I only use it on rare occasions.

Thats why I like my coupe, no antenna to worry about. Not always the greatest reception in the world, but thats besides the case. :D
