Here is the new idea for the winter. go with a full exhaust ( LT headers, Xpipe, highflow cats, on top of My existing Borlas) and a new cam.
what kind of power can i expect from the cam. I want a streetable cam that will let me idle and keep the car cool and under control, so i need to know which cam would do that for me. Also what can i expect to pay for install. I read a thread that the install was about $500, thats cheap enough for me not to even deal with it.
I would say you would get a good 50-60rwhp out of the cam with LS1 Edit and hey you may get more but that is what I have seen. But you need to get the cam tuned I wouldn't just throw the cam in and drive the car.
Chris at ECS is looking around 370-380hps on mine if I do just the cam and 410-440 head/cam package. I'm at 340rwhp now so gains should be between 30-40hps on a mild streetable cam. Contact Chris to find out what cam, he told me but I forgot to write it dn.
I was right around 320 rwhp with my basic bolt-ons. Added FLP long tubes with x-pipe and hi-flow cats, 224/224 112lsa cam, and underdrive pulley and dynoed (with tune) at 385 rwhp. I was very pleased with those numbers on stock heads. All work done by 21st Century Musclecars.
my highest dyno to date is 384rwhp. but i'm getting the ASP pulley installed right now and have tweaked my tuning a little more this past week, so i'm crossing my fingers in hope of that glorious 400rwhp.
Thunder Racing 224/224 563/563 114 LSA picked up 30.2 HP and 51.8 ft/lbs torque on my 2002 A4 with stock heads. Since you mention idle characteristics are important to you, I would not go lower than 114 LSA. 114 even gives you a bit of a lope at idle.

Hi there,
Did you have any LOW Voltage problems with the underdrive pulley?
I have a 216/220 .525 .532 114 cam for sale ($150). Its a smaller cam than most but picked up 30ish rwhp and 42rwtq. The good thing about this cam is it idles like stock and pulls hard down low and mid range. The only drawback is the cam runs out of air at 6000 rpm to 6500. Overall its a good little cam and makes more hp than a 2002 Zo6 cam.
Before the gears and highstall, the cam made 350ish rwhp. After gears and stall it dropped to 338rwhp. At the track I am traping 113 which equates to 360ish rwhp.
