I am thinking about purchasing a set of Heads and Cams for my 2000 vette. Before I do this, however, I am seeking advice on what are the pitfalls, if any, to look out for and who is the best vendor to contact. Thanks!
I would either get the new Patriot Performance LS6 head or the Total Engine Airflow with the revised port/bowls. Both vendors are top notch, expect to pay 1700 for the heads. I would choose the right cam and compression for your driving. A few cams/combo's I would recommend
220/224 112lsa +2 10.8:1cr
224/228 112lsa +2 11.0:1cr
228/232 112lsa +2 11.0:1cr
230/236 112lsa +2 11.5:1cr
Send me an email if you need some help.

Phil is right on target, both those heads are proven performers. The only pitfall to a H/C install may be some driveablity issues with a very large cam and a tight LSA. I'm running a pretty large cam and it drives very good with the tuning I have.

:iagree:
You also might want to checkout heads by Absolute Speed.
Give the guys at Cartek a call http://www.cartek.net/. Their H/C packages with their tuning have been well documented on this forum. About a 3 hour ride from Bowie to their shop.
Whoever installs the package make sure they know how to properly torque the crank pulley bolt. See the Service Manual. My installer apparently did not do it properly and the bolt came loose after about a year, pulley worked out about 1/2", threw a belt and it cost me over $700 for new pulley, belts and labor.

You need to figure out what goals you are trying to reach for your car before anyone can give you a good reply about this subject. Most of the vendors on this site can get you in the 420 rwhp range pretty easily. You probably also want to pick someone who is close to you regardless of what your goals are for your car.
