I use the exact same pads... except they come in a different box.

Best money I spent. I wouldn't say they stop any better, but the dust reduction is significant.

I've been using the GM ceramics for about a year with Baer rotors. Love these pads. Stopping power is good and verrrrrrrrrrry little dust to deal with. :hurray:

I bought my Raybestos ceramics at PepBoys; $75 for front pair, $55 for rear pair (but I only replaced my front pads).

I have the GM ones. Real happy with the way-less dust. Stopping power seems the same as regular C5 brakes. Mine developed some slight squealing, but nothing out of the ordinary for disc brakes.

The GM ones are made by Dana. The Raybestos ones aren't. Both seem to be pretty good though, everyone seems happy with them.

The GM ones come with a full set of shims and clips - don't know about the Raybestos.

Are they any harder on the rotors? Our C5 tech in Tucson recommended against doing it since, "the Corvette rotors at thin" and the ceramic pad will really shorten thier life.

PepBoys must be cheaper in Ohio. I paid $100 front, $60 rear :(

How much $$$?
NEW rotors from NAPA:
RF - UBP 86700 $26.99
LF - UBP 86701 $26.99
LR - UBP 86702 $27.49
RR - UBP 86703 $27.49

NEW ceramic GM pads from GMpartsdirect:
Front - 88909667 $72.09
Rear - 88909668 $50.56

With tax and shipping it will come out to about $250 TOTAL for new pads and rotors if you do it yourself, or have a small shop help you out with the labor for just a few $ more.

I've had mine for a few months. Under normal driving condition they perform fine and absolutely no dust. However, under real hard driving (track-like) you get significant fade.

I hear ya'... but I seen both offerings sitting right next to each other. They looked like Geordi LaForge ran one through the replicator... exacting down to the accessory bag and label on said bag.

I have been running the GM Wave II's, from Ken Fitchner Chevy. They have considerably less dust and its a brighter dust, so it does'nt show. The brakes are great but need a couple of stops to warm up, I have not experienced the fade mentioned in another reply, and that was after three stops from over 160. I did smell what I would say was alot of heat so I could have been getting close to there maximum heat absorbtion. Its been a couple of years but I think they were over $200 for the front and rear pads.

I'm due. I'll have to check my local NAPA Store. Or, do you have to do mail-order or on-line order? I notice you had them shipped.

I think that's the last advice I'd ever take from that technician, and if Corvette rotors are thin, I'd hate to see a thick one. Even if they did shorten a rotor's life, you can replace rotors for less that $20 per rotor(rockauto). :D
