John, I road race my car also and I modified my dead pedal by shortening it 1-1/2". Much more comfortable for me. I have not broken this pedal, but if I did I would lay in some fiberglass on the back side of the pedal to add structural strength. What actually failed on the pedal, the bolt tabs or the main body of the pedal? If you are interested in a shortened, reinforced pedal, let me know and I will modify one for you...

I installed an aluminum dead pedal cover over the plastic and I haven't had any problems as of yet. That might be the answer for the pedal breaking.Ireally don't know if you like them or not,but they seem to take care of the breaking, and unsightly appearance they acquire from hard use. :chevy :chevy :flag :chevy :chevy

Hi John,

We offer this new cast aluminum dead pedal that matches the factory brake and clutch pedals. It attaches over your existing dead pedal. From your description of the problem, it sounds like your entire dead pedal might be braking off. If that's the case, this may not be the solution for you, but I thought I'd mention it just in case. Good luck!

Thanks guys for the help! The entire pedal broke off at the mounting points. I guess I can make an aluminum copy or or order 3 new ones as they can't cost much. Hieght and shape are fine for my legs. May be I could glass it to reinforce it. Thanks!
