Ok so I'm wanting to get a little more performance out of my vette but also I'm wanting to make it sound a little bit better. I think I want the CORSA Indy system. I've heard the borlas and while they're just down right ugly sounding I think it's too loud for my personal tastes.
I want to be able to hear my self think if I'm on a long trip or if I'm taking someone out. I don't want to shout to strike up conversation. I'm also really curious of what types of systems people are using, and what kind of power you're getting?
I think I want to build for more low end torque. I probably won't be doing any high speed runs. If anyone has dyno graphs of before and after that would be great. I really want some experience from others.
Also can anyone give me the low down on the different systems? Such has cat back, y pipe, x pipe. I have no clue what those are. I know cat back is from the catalytic converter back. I'm not really closed to removing those pesky critters. I'm more a dog person anyhow
I think the corsa system sounds to much like my friends mastercraft but it seems alot of the guys on here like that. I had the borla stingers on my car before I could even drive it. I think the sound of the borlas should not even be compared to the corsa system. As for more low end power, an exhaust system makes it feel faster due to the increase in the noise. As for power, unless you have other mods H/C it does not really make a difference. After I installed my new heads/cam/longtubes and cats I was very happy I had the stingers. For some low end power replace your filter with a Blackwing and LS6 intake. Get the LS1-edit tune with those mods and you will fill the difference. Also the factory Zo6 system sounds pretty good. But I am 21 and like to wake the county up when I crank my car! :D  :lol
Oh and vets dont have a Y pipe the have an H pipe. That is where the two pipes connect like on a mustang. F body cars have a Y pipe. F-body system go from the headers into a y pipe and stay as one pipe all the way until the rear and then split back. An X pipe replaces the factory H pipe on our cars causing a smoother air flow  I like the way the H pipe works and sounds(causes a samll backfire during a stop) As for noise on the road, get rid of those run-crap tires. I bought my car in D.C and drove it back to Atlanta and it was horrible. I use Nitto 555R's and normall555 now. It is a huge difference. Hopes this helps.
LGM long tubes and ZO6 titanium mufflers. See if you can find a car set up like this and take a ride. :yesnod: Pleasant cruise and flat nasty wot. Ron B.
