I have had the PCV mod (Campbell catch can version) installed for a year. Today I take off my manifold and find lots of oil all over the head ports and inside the manifold.
I have a 2000FRC with 30k miles.
I noticed something interesting about the PCV mod. It only filters out the oil from the left (drivers) side head. If you notice, your TB has two vacuum lines from the PCV system. The main black one on the bottom, and there is a silver line at the right top.
So I pull the hose that connects this right top vacuum line and it has a lot of oil in it. It connects to the right head. IF you also look at the head, it has TWO pcv venting lines. One that connects to the TB, and the other that connects to the left head. How strange???
So this is my question to all you tech people. I re did my PCV system. I connected my left head PCV vent to the bottom PCV line with the catch can using a "Y" connector, then connected the left head to the other o port of the "Y" connector. Capped off the top vacuum port on the TB, and capped off the extra PCV vent on the right head.
Will that work? My car consumes too much oil, now I know its not an oil ring problem, its the cheap butt PCV system!
LS6 blower motor, Heads, cam, Longtube headers, Supercharger, LS6 intake, One way PCV check valve... I think you get the Idea... and guess what?? No more oil in the PCV system!! :blueangel:
